Developing the Ultimate Course Search Tool to Increase Retention & Learning

Sailume Walo-Roberts is a doctoral student and research fellow at Montclair State University, pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey. Her research interests are: Violence against women; gender equity; trauma; refugees and the impact of acculturation; multicultural counseling; and the experiences of students of color in higher education. Before pursuing her PhD, Sailume was the Coordinator of a rape crisis center for ten years where she provided support to survivors of sexual violence, and worked with community members to create strategies to prevent sexual violence. Sailume is a member of the iSECURE team, an NSF funded grant titled, “Integrating Learning Resources for Information Security Research and Education”, which is developing an online learning tool that integrates learning preferences, electronic course materials, and ontologies into learning environments.
