Jeff Bergin has led curriculum, instructional, and learner experience design for various educational technology companies for the past 20 years. Dr. Bergin is passionate about engaging learners in the design process, whether through learner-centered design, design-based research, design thinking methodologies, or learner codesign. He is also keenly interested in mobile learning, learner diagnostics, and AR/VR.
Currently, Dr. Bergin is the Vice President of Learning Research & Design at Macmillan Learning, where he leads a team of design researchers and learning designers. Previously, he was the Vice President of Learning & Experience Design for Pearson’s Global Product Organization. Dr. Bergin has also worked at and consulted with a number of educational technology startups, and taught computer-media composition courses at Maricopa Community Colleges. He holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Composition, and Linguistics from Arizona State University; a M.A. in English Literature and Language from Northern Arizona University; and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin.
