Michael is the assistant director for the Center of Teaching, Learning, and Technology at the University of Richmond, a private liberal arts university in Virginia. He supervises academic technology consultants (liaisons) in an effort to support faculty, students and staff with appropriate use of technology in teaching and learning. Michael also has multiple degrees in music theory/composition/music business and has taught various courses at the higher ed level for most of his career in academia, dating back to 1994. Michael also has an advanced degree in instructional design & technology, and developed expertise in online course design and instruction during his 20 years working at East Carolina University. He is currently focusing efforts at UR are on virtual reality applications in higher education, including less immersive but related technologies such as 360-degree videography and photography.
