Planning for the Emerging Learning Design’s third annual conference, scheduled for June 7th, 2013, is well under way. The conference has grown each year and promises to be bigger and better in 2013.
We are looking for a volunteer to be a part of the critically important ELD13 Coordinating Committee (CorCom) as Director of Press and Public Relations (PPR).
The Director will focus on branding of the conference, helping to increase registration, working to publicize and advertise the event, and overall communications (including social media and the web presence). The PPR committee already has two volunteers willing to help but we’re in need of someone with some experience to oversee the total operation.
Although not a massive effort, the PPR Director must be available to meet virtually with the ELD13 CorCom every two weeks, for about 1 hour, between now and the conference on June 7th (more/less frequently if needed and agreed to.) The Director will be expected to make a regular contribution to work on PPR project with the natural ebbs and flows of any event of this nature.
Enthusiasm to help in this area and willingness to learn in areas where some gaps might exist can sometimes be as important as actual experience. This is an excellent opportunity to see a conference from the inside out, to help bring an event like this to the community, and as an important item for any CV or resume.
