Kim Manturuk is the manager of program evaluation and assessment at Duke University’s Center for Instructional Technology. She is also an instructor in sociology and a distance learning specialist through the Friday Center for Continuing Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on innovative ways to use technology for teaching and learning in higher education. She has led several research projects exploring how online teaching can expand access to higher education. Her work has been published in over 15 different peer-reviewed journals including: Social Science Research, Educational Media International, Current Issues in Emerging eLearning, Sociological Forum, and Social Service Review. Kim received her Ph.D. In sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
